So in 185? I can't remember but there was a great earthquake. And so to prevent your house from leaning from the shaking's of the quake, iron rods were installed through the walls of your house and once a year you would fasten turning rods to the " brackets" on the outside of the house and literally turn and turn so as to straiten the rods thus preventing leanage of the house. By golly it seemed to work for they are still standing! (Dave and Analee correct please if I am wrong, I have a way of mixing up facts and details!)
